The Observational Cosmology group at IFAE contributed actively to these results, in particular in the BAO measurement using the Lyman alpha forest. The validation of this measurement using synthetic datasets was presented in a publication (Ref 4) led by Laura Casas, PhD student at IFAE. The impact of the DESI DR2 BAO measurements has been very large, and Ref 2 has already received more than 800 citations in less than a year. Andreu Font-Ribera was also asked to present these results in a CFA Colloquium at Harvard.
Finally, the cosmology group at IFAE also hosted a DESI workshop in September of 2025. This workshop, attended by 15 members, focused on the preparation of future analyses of the Lyman alpha forest that go beyond the BAO measurements presented above.
