Detector Characterization

The group is officially responsible for the characterization and ground calibration of the Flight Model IR detectors of the ARRAKIHS mission, the first ESA mission led by Spain. Work has continued in this are with the development of the procedures to accomplish this task and meet the mission requirements.
2025 Activities
In the VLWIF front, the group has developed a completely new testing infrastructure to allow the testing of detectors with sensitivity beyond 15 microns in the context of the ATHENA project. Design and fabrication of this new facility has advanced and new detector characterization procedures are being developed..
